Vineyard at Champagne Mercier

I was about to turn back when I reached the first roundabout at the Avenue de Champagne when I saw the offices of Champagne De Castellane. I have never heard of this brand before but the tower they have here was quite distinctive probably in reference to its name which probably has something to do with a castle. I thought that was it when I saw another big brand across the street – Champagne Mercier. I know I heard the name before but I think it was referring to some other thing. Apparently, Champagne Mercier and Moët and Chandon have the same parent company – LVMH which is one of the largest companies in France. In fact, list of brands they own is a list of stuff I could never possibly own. Apparently, they are one of the largest companies specializing in luxury goods.

Champagne Mercier apparently used to own the brand Dom Perignon, it was then transferred to Moët and Chandon. These days, Champagne Mercier is the largest selling champagne brand in France. Naturally, they also have a presence along the Avenue de Champagne. Not only do they have offices like a lot of their other competitors, but they have an actual vineyard here open for visitors. I was surprised to see the vineyard here and I was hoping to get photos of grapes but it was winter and there are no grapes to be found. I took my photos anyway and started heading back.
