I successfully checked into the Ibis Budget Reims Parc des Expositions. It was a huge relief for me because I have been carrying my large backpack for the most part in Reims. I quickly unloaded my stuff into the larger backpack so I don’t have bring so much when I go out again that evening. Because I have been carrying the backpack the whole day, I suddenly realized how tired I actually was. I decided to get some rest because I head out again. I know that Reims seems to be very lively even at night. So I think I can still have a look around in the evening.

I went back to the Basilica of Saint-Remi because it seems to be lit up at night but I thought that I should just have dinner first. Just across the basilica, I thought I saw a small commercial center. I hope that there are still ones which are open. I don’t know if there are any restrictions in place here in France. For the most part, it looks like life is back to normal despite the raging pandemic. I saw this bistro just along the main streets named Le Flechambault. Fortunately, the staff can understand and speak English which is a relief for me.

Unfortunately, the menu is in French but maybe that might not be that big of a problem. I think I am able to decipher the menu to know what it is made of. I ended up picking something that has something to do with lamb. It turned out to be braised lamb shank. It came with salad which was a lot. To push it all down, I ask for a glass of wine. The lamb was very tender and it was very tasty. My only problem was that the restaurant was too dark for me to take photos of the food, as you can see from the photos.

One funny incident was they gave me a bag to bring back. I thought it was strange since I didn’t ask for anything. But I thought I heard the next table get asked for doggy bag or something that sounded like it. So I thought that it was normal to bring back the bones home. I carried the bag as I made my way out of the restaurant. I started taking photos when the bag kept bothering me, so finally, I took a look. It was actually food. And it wasn’t food I asked for. I hurriedly went back to the restaurant and the restaurant owner was laughing at what happened. The owner of the bag was also there as well and we were all sharing a laugh even though we weren’t speaking the same language.
