Going to Ardare

I am glad that I got to visit West Cork. It wasn’t 100% great weather here since the previous day was just awful. But I got to see a lot of places and I still enjoyed the trip even if my photos never turned out the way I hoped they would. Having said that, I never got to visit all the places that I wanted to. I managed to visit the Mizen Peninsula as well as the Sheep’s Head Peninsula. However, the Beara Peninsula was one of my targets and I didn’t have time to visit it. I didn’t bother squeezing it in even if I did have the time for it. The weather was bad that day and I just didn’t think it would be worth making that trip there. I would use that as a reason to come back here instead.

Indeed, that was what I did for county Kerry where I had to come back a few times. Today was the day I leave and I thought to take the scenic route back. From the town of Kenmare, I made my way through Killarney National Park, which was actually along the way back. While the weather was much better than it was the previous day, it wasn’t good enough for me to pull out my camera and take photos. I just kept on driving until I hit the highway going to Limerick. It was mid-morning that I left Kenmare, so it would take a few more hours to get back home. I was in no hurry but I managed to time it such that I would get to the village of Adare by lunch time. As you can see from the photos, I am about to find out why Adare is one of the prettiest villages in Ireland.
