Bantry

At this point in the day, I have pretty much given up on getting nice blue sky photos of the Mizen Peninsula. I have been moving around the whole day and it seems that the thick fog is not letting up. I just kept all these new places at the back of my mind so that I would remember to come back for it the next time. It is a pain if this happens because Cork is not the easiest place to get to from where I am based. I guess that makes it a good reason for me to come visit this area again. I was finally done with the Sheep’s Head peninsula where the view was a whole lot of nothing because of the thick fog. I decided to call it quits and just start to head back.

By this time of the day it was already late afternoon. So I was thinking about where to get some food for dinner. I didn’t really have a good lunch since I couldn’t find any fast food or open restaurants along the way. Ultimately, I decided to just head to the largest town in the area that is also along the way back to where the bed and breakfast is – Bantry. I passed through this town earlier on my way to the Mizen Peninsula and I thought it seemed to be a pretty little town. You can feel how big this place is because of the large plaza in the center of town. There is no fog here but the cloud cover is still thick, so there won’t be any clear skies here.
