Around Schull Village

Looking Out to Sea from Schull

The eerily calm village of Schull in the Mizen Peninsula is one the largest in the area. However, it isn’t a total backwater. There is a beautiful harbor here which makes it perfect of water sports. At the time of my visit, there was a thick sea mist that was rolling in and it was difficult to see far. I don’t think anyone would feeling like doing water sports in such lazy weather. While the very low lying clouds are a downer, that didn’t stop me from going around the harbor area, which understandably is the center of life in Schull.

It was still mid morning and people were out and about doing their walks. It does seem like a great idea to be walking in such a lovely harbor. You can see the clear waters here from the harbor. If the skies were clear, I think it would have made a really lovely photo. It is unfortunate that the default weather in Ireland is miserable. You’d be lucky if there were clear skies and that bright shiny object in the sky is out. Right beside the harbor is a nice stretch of walking paths. It seems like it was turned into a park by the sea. It does look nice to just hang out here.
