Tullagh Beach

Tullagh Beach

Tullagh Beach

I was trying to drive the Inishowen 100, which is a scenic driving route which goes around the Inishowen Peninsula. I guess you can think of it as Donegal’s smaller version of the Ring of Kerry. The Inishowen 100 has several points of interest along the route, so expect to stop every now and then. I have visited a few spots along this scenic drive, so I try to see if there are any places which I haven’t been too. Fortunately, a lot of these places are signposted. One of these places is Tullagh Beach. I thought I saw some beach not too far from Clonmany and that is where I saw the sign to Tullagh Beach.

Enjoying Tullagh Beach

I never heard of this place before so to me it sounds like some hidden gem. There is a large parking area just behind the beach, so it is very accessible. The beach is nice and wide and although I never heard of the beach, it seems that others already know about this place. There are caravans parked here so it sounds like this is a well known place. Like a lot of beaches in Donegal, Tullagh Beach doesn’t have any facilities here. There are no shops here where you can buy snacks either so be prepared to bring your own. There are holiday homes here where you can rent and spend a nice weekend here. I don’t know how busy this place so be prepared for some competition.
