Glen Pier

Cliffs Besides Glen Pier

I was very pleased to have run into the Glen Pier. It is actually a small pier which is right beside a small peninsula with sheer cliffs. You can go to the pier itself have a look around. The cliffs would be on your left and while they are not the Cliffs of Moher, they can still look very nice in photos. It is always amazing to see chunks of land just carved off like cake. I didn’t have time to see if you can actually get to the cliffs themselves but I think looking at the from the pier is good enough for me.

See the Skellig Islands in the Distance?

See the Skellig Islands in the Distance?

It was already late in the day and the sun just so happens to be setting right in front of the pier. I can see that there are clouds in the horizon so the sun won’t be there for long. I don’t think I will be able to get a colorful sunset photo here since the clouds appear to be too thick. As I was looking out into the sea, I noticed that there was an island in the distance. It looks awfully familiar. The jagged rocks and sharp peaks of the island tell me that it is one of the Skellig Island, possibly both of them. It was an incredible conincidence that you can see them from the Glen Pier. It would be nice to see the sun set behind it but I think you need to be incredibly lucky to see that.
