Revisiting the Going to the Sun Road

Entering Glacier National Park

Entering Glacier National Park

I found myself in the village of Saint Mary because I wanted to have a better look at the historic Saint Mary Lodge. It feels a bit strange to just walk up to a hotel and be that close to the guest rooms. I guess it is very safe here that they never needed to concern themselves with security. Saint Mary village sits right outside the eastern entrance of Glacier National Park. I would stop here because there is a gasoline station here where I would always patronize because I would find the fuel gauge below half and I would get anxious about not having enough fuel to get back. I didn’t notice a lot of other gas stations on the way here so it would be best to fill up here before I drive further.

The gas station also has a convenience store, so I can also load up on supplies here just in case. Not too far away from the station is the entrance to the park. For a lot of people, this would be their introduction to the park. Already, right after entering the park visitors would be greeted with amazing scenery. I already notice how the weather was already changing. It was much colder the past few days and I can see snow on the tallest mountains. This is a sure sign that winter is coming. Since I won’t be here when winter actually comes, I would take this opportunity to see how different this place with with some snow.
