Two Medicine Lake

I was on my way to visit Two Medicine Lake, which is another famous lake here in Glacier National Park. There seems to be plenty of these glacial lakes here in the park. It just goes to show you the power of glaciers to carve out these features over the years. Two Medicine is another remnant of this process. I managed to find Two Medicine Lake just by following the signs here. I was glad that everything was signposted to make it easy enough to find these places. Along the way, I noticed that the mountains have been getting more snow cover. You can actually feel the cold even more now. I won’t be there in the park for much longer but it seems winter is about to come to this region.

Two Medicine Lake doesn’t appear to receive the same amount of traffic that Lake McDonald receives. Although it is quite well known, not everyone makes it yet. If ever, most people would be visiting Lake McDonald, Avalanche Lake and Logan Pass. Everything else could be put off if you have extra days here. I still have a couple of days here so I made sure to come here. Two Medicine Lake doesn’t look as big as Lake McDonald and it is just as well since this helps bring the mountains much closer to you. The centerpiece mountain here at Two Medicine Lake is Sinopah Mountain and it dominates the landscape. In the winter, there would be snow accumulations on the slopes of the mountain which gives you a totally different feel to the place.
