Other Side of Jingandiao Bridge 静安吊桥

The suspension bridge at Shifen 十分 was an interesting sidelight to the old village itself. I didn’t realize that the village was built beside the Keelung river in the mountains. The suspension bridge allows pedestrian easier access to the town instead of having to walk down the hill where Shifen is and go back up, why not just build a bridge across the river. The bridge also provides views of the village of Shifen as well as the Keelung River. The wooden bridge is stable and you can easily cross it. So what is on the other side of the bridge?

You can say the other half of the village is here. However, to put it nicely, there wasn’t much incentive to go to the other side. It seems there there are a few run down structures here, probably made worse by the rain. There didn’t seem to be too many people going there and the last few tourists also turned back once they got to the other side. I quick took my photos and made my way back to the main village. I think I like my villages slightly more populated. It is possible the locals live there so there isn’t really much to see there.
