Lisbon at Night

Rossio Train Station at Night

Rossio Train Station at Night

It was finally night time at Lisbon, I thought it wouldn’t come sooner. It was very warm that day and since a lot of the sights around Lisbon were outdoors this meant being outside in the heat. I’m probably not used to the heat anymore and I was constantly trying to find shelter from the sun. Fortunately, Lisbon is much more pleasant to explore in the evening. Shops were still open, especially the restaurants. Like the rest of Europe, al fresco dining is the norm here. Most restaurants which have have ground floor access would invariably have seats outside. I don’t believe that all restaurants here would have air-conditioning so it would actually be a better choice to sit outside.

I was going around what seems to be a restaurant area. It was just restaurant after restaurant here and one would be spoilt for choice. I would think that the ones which have customers would be a safe bet but most of them have a lot of customers which makes choosing difficult. Another thing I noticed here was the buildings here are all lit up. The nicely preserved buildings are beautifully illuminated making it an even more pleasant walk. Although I already had dinner earlier, part of me thinks that maybe I should have looked here first. Then again, I would have missed out on that nice roasted chicken.
