The Fantastic World Of Portuguese Sardines

I found Rua Augusta in Lisbon. It is the largest and most popular shopping street in Lisbon. You can tell how special it is when it was turned into a pedestrian street and tiles over. The result is a very nice walking street which is lined with restaurants and shops. I enjoy walking down these kinds of places even if they can be a bit crowded. It was still morning so there weren’t a lot people here. Some shops, including the restaurants were just opening. There are some interesting shops here including strange ones but probably nothing can be stranger than the Fantastic World of Portuguese Sardines.

By now, I know that Portugal is known for its love of sardines. I was probably not too surprised to run into a shop which is dedicated solely to sardines. O Mundo Fantástico das Conservas Portuguesas as the shop is known has a unique shop with walls lined with tins of sardine. The shop has a fun take to Portuguese sardines with tins having various attractive designs. You can even get a tin with you age on it if you want. Having said that, there designer sardine tins are probably just that. I doubt anyone would want to open the tins themselves to eat.
