Colorful Buildiings at Pena Palace
I surprisingly enjoyed visiting Cabo da Roca, I didn’t know that there was spectacular scenery to be had there and it was a pleasant surprise for me. The beautiful weather only helped even more. But now, the sun has started to go down and we were told by our tour guide that we still have one more stop to visit. There wasn’t a lot of time left so we needed to hurry up. Turns out that one of the most important places in Sintra is to be our last stop of the tour – Pena Palace.
Inside the Pena Palace
The Pena Palace or Palacio da Pena, is another palace built on the hills of Sintra. This is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage site listing of Sintra. The hills of Sintra make a convenient place to build a summar palace for the kings and the rich of Lisbon. It is not that far from Lisbon. In fact, the Pena Palace itself can be seen from most of Lisbon. Visitors can actually look back at Lisbon from the palace. For now, we need to get there before the place closes. It would be close but I think once we get in, we should be okay.
