Bowman Lake

On the Shores of Bowman Lake

I had to endure another round of shaking with the bad roads in this part of Glacier National Park. Clearly, not a lot of people make it here or else they would have already had the road paved. It is double edged sword, if the road is paved, it would be very convenient to come here. On the other hand, if it was very convenient to come here, there would be lots more people here probably ruining the experience of visiting the lake. For now, I have to survive the rough and winding road to the lake. I ultimately made it to the lake. There is a parking area here which was good enough for the number of people who come here. At least it wasn’t as muddy here as in Polebridge.

My eyes immediately looked towards the lake. It was another beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. This would be the fifth lake I visited and every one of them are different. Bowman Lake is one of the prettier ones I have visited. It helps there there were hardly any people here. Most people would just stand on the shore and stare in awe of the raw beauty of the lake. I found myself doing the same thing. It was so quiet that you just wanted to sit somewhere, read a book and just forget all your worries. Like much of the lakes in this area, Bowman Lake is also another product of glaciation and it was filled in when the glaciers retreated. Like Lake McDonald, the waters are also unbelievably clear. I wish I could just take this scenery home with me.
