Toulouse at Night

I spent most of the day exploring the city center of Toulouse. I was surprised how much of the old city was preserved. The red brick which is used by most of the buildings in Toulouse makes taking photos of the buildings here a pleasure. Toulouse didn’t feel like a museum city unlike some places in the country, this meant that there would be a lot of modern conveniences in the city. This also means that Toulouse can also cater to people who are not keen on historical structures. There is a lot of shopping to be done here.

I eventually head back to the hotel to rest for a bit. The hotel was a bit of a walk back since it was outside the city center. By the time, I got out, it was already dark outside since the days were short. I thought that this was a good opportunity to see Toulouse at night. I immediately head to the Basilica of Saint Sernin and, as expected, the basilica is lit up at night. For some reason, the rear of the basilica is brighter than the front. Maybe the lights weren’t working at the time. Shops tend to close earlier here, I wasn’t here for the weekend but they probably have longer opening hours in the weekends.
