It seems that Arles is city which is well known for its very well preserved Roman ruins. I didn’t know how many Roman empire sites I would be visiting in this trip. This help to increase my understanding of the history of this region as well as lifestyle of the people back then. Sure they don’t have modern conveniences like electricity but I surprised as to how sophisticated the lives of the people were back then. One of the places I would be visiting here in Arles are the Roman baths which seem to be part of the UNESCO World Heritage site listing of Arles.

This place is just outside the city center and I ran into them just as I arrived at the main city. There is a tickets which lets you visit a lot of sites here in Arles and I think it is great value since these places are very interesting. These baths are officially called the Baths of Constantine or Thermes de Constantin. Apparently, these were very important and popular structures since people would be coming here to bathe. I am not sure if the Romans had running water back then but having a public place to bathe probably solves the problem of hygiene. The baths here in Arles seem to be in a ruined state I hope there is still something left to see here.
