Lyon at Night

I has been a while since I had a fancy dinner. I just finished a nice dinner at a reservations only restaurant which features Lyonnaise cuisine which is said to be one of the best in France. The food was actually unique enough that I would not be able to relate it to anything I had before. It is a pity I only have two nights here. I’m hoping that I would be able to try out a lot of other stuff here before I leave Lyon. The location of the restaurant was also nice, sitting in a quiet part of town near the river. The building was wonderfully charming and it was as if it was taking from an old photograph.

Turns out that Lyon is also known for its centuries old architecture. The restaurant was just an introduction for me and there is still the rest of the city of explore. There is even an overhead bridge for pedestrians to cross the not so wide street. It was rather strange but it is convenient for the residents to be able to go to the next building without having to set foot on the street. Lyon is filled with these passageways which are used back in the old days. Excellent state of preservation of the old city is probably what merited it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage site list.
