Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw

I was back in the big city of Warsaw from several days stay in Krakow. I needed to take a flight from here, so it make sense to stay here before that. I sort of know my way to get back to the Old Town of Warsaw where I would be spending the night. The first time I was here, I didn’t know how to get there and I walked thirty minutes to get to the place. It wasn’t fun because I had a heavy back pack with me. This time I knew to take the bus which brings me straight to the old town.

Before all that, stepping outside the old town. One of the first structures you would recognize would be the Palace of Culture and Science. It is a large building with some similarity to the Empire state building. It seemed like an over the top design which was common back in the days of communism. Despite its name, it is mostly an entertainment complex, it even has a cinema complex and exhibition hall. It is the tallest building in the country and it is probably the best place to see the city of Warsaw. It sits in a curious location opposite what is probably one of Warsaw’s financial districts which has gleaming towers and a huge shopping mall.
