I had a great night’s sleep at the apartment at the Old Town of Warsaw, probably helped by that great meal I had the previous night. I needed to move to a different city but I will be back in a few days. This time I knew how I would be going about in Warsaw. There is a bus 175 which one can take from the main street outside the old town. Fortunately, their transport system was easy enough to figure out. There is a ticket kiosk at the bus stop and I just needed to purchase one ticket to the train station. The kiosk has English language screens so there was no need to worry about not understanding it.

The train station isn’t that far away but I didn’t want to walk all the way there with my backpack. I actually go off the bus one stop too soon and had to walk the rest of the way. I believe that stop was another major bus stop for locals. I got confused when people started getting off the bus leading me to think that it was the train station. The bus actually stops right beside the train station.

As one would expect, Warsaw Central is the largest train station in Warsaw. It has trains going to the most parts of the country so it would be a great starting point to explore the country. I would be going to the Royal city of Krakow. I had already purchased tickets the previous day. There are ticket staff who speak English as well as automated kiosks with English screens. It was very easy to use.

There was a choice of a fast or a slower train. I took the faster one which is less than three hours rather than the other more than four hour trip. The train station is actually quite modern. There were shops here for people to purchase food. The trains were also large and modern. I was really pleasantly surprised at how modern they were. There were probably almost at par with the other trains in the region. There was a electric socket for me to plug my phone into. I didn’t want to risk not knowing where to find my accommodation if my phone died on my way there.
