Going to Cashel

Rock of Cashel

The Glenstal Abbey was just a stopover on my way out of county Limerick. I was recommended to drop by this place since it was already along the way. I thought it was a nice stop. I especially liked that outside of the abbey since it looks more like a castle than an abbey. I got to explore the grounds of the abbey since it was open to the public. It was more like a park and there were quite a few places to see. I had to skip the larger park since I had a schedule to keep. So far so good, I didn’t spend too much time in Glenstal Abbey and I would still be able to arrive at my intended destination in time.

County Tipperary seems to have an abundance of castles but I don’t have time to be exploring all of them. I have come for the more well known ones, I would probably visit the lesser known ones some other time. I was glad that the weather was holding up. I didn’t check how the weather was going to be that day but I was glad it is as good as it can get. There were blue skies all around and it was actually quite warm. I’m not complaining since it is seldom we get this kind of weather here. I started pulling into the town of Cashel, which is a major tourist town here in county Tipperary.
