The United States is home to a multitude of nationalities from all over the world. After all, the entire country was founded by migrants. Over the years some of these nationalities found homes in different parts of the country. It was not surprising then that I ran into a place called the Italian Market in Philadelphia. The Italian Market is considered the heart of the Italian community in the city. There are a few restaurants and shops which cater to this community. They even have an open market which sell fruit and vegetables. I have seen a real Italian market and I think I liked the original better.

Over the years the community was further diluted by other nationalities, specifically the Hispanic community. Because of this you can saw that it is probably Italian in name only. They still have the open market and it is quite useful. If I lived here, I would have probably shopped here for my fruit and vegetables. Most of the time you would be exploring the curb since the fruit and vegetable stalls face inwards. It was quite dark since there had sheets to block out the hot summer sun. I didn’t buy anything there since I was in a hurry for some snack further down the road.
