Independence Hall So Close and Yet So Far

I was disappointed to know that the free tickets to visit the Independence Hall in Philadelphia have all been given away. I was hoping to be able to go in the hall but I was advised to come back the next day. That is not an option for me though. So I just have to content myself looking at the Independence Hall from the outside. So what is so important about this place? This place is arguably the birthplace of the United States. The name already provides a hint as to the importance of this place. The Declaration of Independence was adopted here. I’m not history buff and I’m not very familiar with American history but I have at least heard of the Declaration of Independence.

Apart from the Independence Hall, the United State Constitution was also debated and adopted here. You can consider both these documents to be sacred since they effectively set the course of destiny to be the most powerful nation on earth. I watched with envy as people are since the grounds walking about. It is not as if I can’t take photos of the building. There is a road which runs right in front of the hall and it was a bit difficult to take photos close enough to the building. There is very zealous security here keeping visitors from standing in front of the building, blocking traffic and endangering themselves. At this point, I was already considering my options since I don’t know what else to see here. I had to pull out my map to figure out what my next steps would be.
