Rambla de Catalunya

It seems that there were two works of Antoni Gaudí which were nearby. We had already dropped by the Casa Batlló which was a disappointment for me, not because it was not worth it, but that the queue to enter the building was long and that we didn’t get any chance to go in, so we were just happy to take photos from the outside. On the brighter sides, we didn’t have to spend money for that visit. We were one the lookout for another work of Gaudí which was supposedly nearby. Unfortunately, we got horribly lost, and now that I got a chance to look at the map, I don’t understand how we managed to get lost there when it should have been just a short walk down a few blocks.

We ended up walking along another semi-pedestrianized street. This was similar to the Rambla Vella in Terragona. I believe this is a common feature in Spanish cities. The Rambla de Catalunya is another one of these attractive streets. There is a large center island where people can walk. Much like the one in Tarragona, there are benches here for the weary. For the hungry, there is a row of restaurants here to satisfy you. These restaurants have the main restaurant in the buildings that line Rambla de Catalunya, they just have extensions in place at the center island. It is a very nice setting. We tried to look for a place eat but nothing tickled our fancy, probably that most were beyond our budget. However, we disgress, we still need to look for that other building.
