The next day started early for me. For the first time in a long while, I wasn’t rushing from one site to another. I really wanted to take it slow this time since I was in no hurry to get back to my rather mundane life. The previous day, I met two Chinese ladies who hired a van to bring them around Shangrila. This seems to be a necessity since it there is not easy public transport where you can just get off anytime you want to. I learned that on the way to Baishuitai when I couldn’t stop the vehicle when I saw spectacular scenery along the way.

This time, I was prepared. Their driver gave me his name card with some sights he can bring you to. If you don’t know this person, there will be other like him who will find you. These vans for hire will bring you anywhere in the area and I think it is a necessity. It is probably a good idea to group together to be able to share the cost of the van, at least there will be some one to look after you. That day I decided to visit a mountain, which was supposed to be one of the holy mountains in this area, Shika Snow Mountain.
