Inside the Kuala Besut Jetty Building

We only had a simple lunch at the Kuala Besut Jetty, there were a couple of eateries here but we weren’t really picky. However, we do want to proceed with our jounrney since it already past noon. The ferry here at Kuala Besut was closed from twelve to 2:30 due to Muslim prayers which is a given if it is a Friday. I wonder why they don’t hire Hindu or Christian ferry operators so service would not be interrupted. Eventually, they let us in the ferry terminal building. There quite a few people here probably because the ferry services stopped for a few hours. Before seating ourselves in the jetty waiting area, we needed to pay a conservation fee of MYR 5. Small price but they should have just collected it together with the ferry tickets.

The jetty building wasn’t very large there were two groups of chairs on both sides of the building but there wasn’t much room to move about. I immediately got myself a seat while I started to read my book. It will still be a few more minutes before the gates open and I was already excited to finally see our destination. We have been practically travelling for more than half a day now and we are on to our last 45 minutes. I have heard good things about our destination and I hope it is really worth the trouble coming here.
