Promenade Along the Hai River 海河 in Tianjin 天津
The Tainjin Railway Station is now in a very pretty location. It was built along the banks of the Hai River 海河 which passes through Tianjin. I was wandering around in the plaza when I noticed that the river was so close by. I was also pleasantly surprised to see how pretty this place was. Both sides of the Hai River along this area was developed quite well and it makes for a very nice promenade area. As one would expect, there was a nice place to walk along the river and plants were installed here. Not surprisingly, this has attracted the local folk to come an enjoy this area. It really does make for a pleasant stroll.
Lovely Promenade at Tianjin 天津
Across the river, were nice clusters of colonial style buildings which gives the area much character. The buildings harken back to the days when Tianjin was still occupied for foreign forces. However, the area here is not all old style. There is a very tall tower which is the Tianjin Financial Center which points to Tianjin’s growing ambitions. It was noted that Tianjin isn’t as prosperous as the other provincial level municipalities of Shanghai, Beijing and Chongqing. It is hoped that this will change soon and it is already being felt. Tianjin is fast developing and a lot of skyscrapers are going up. In a few years, I don’t think I would be able to recognize Tianjin anymore.
