Pingyao 平遥 at Night

Nothing much to do outside the Pingyao city walls since everything seems to be very quiet here. I didn’t even consider going out to the modern part of Pingyao since it didn’t seem to be convenient to go there. I didn’t see public transportation here, the closest one would probably be the motorcycle taxis but I don’t want to get stuck outside the city in this darkness. So I head back inside the town for some night time exploration. There were still people coming and going out of the gate, I guess the people who are leaving are people to just work there and have homes outside the ancient city.

Night Time at Pingyao Ancient Town 平遥古城

The night scene at Pingyao was as expected of ancient Chinese town. There were laterns along the streets and every establishment was lit up. As I areadly figured out from some exploration that afternoon. Most of these establishments were commercial. Most of them were selling souvenir items. Some of them were restaurants serving Pingyao specialties. There were even some small grocery stores to cater to the tourists who stay in the town. I found myself patronizing these shops when I visited since they were convenient. Because of the slight drizzle the streets were wet and shiny. This makes for great photography with all the reflections. Let’s see what else I can find.
