If you were perplexed by the title of the post, then you would also have an idea of what I felt when I saw it. It was exploring the Jile Temple. It was pretty much one of your run of the mill Chinese temples. There were halls upon halls of temple to explore. The Jile Temple isn’t really visited by tourists that much so there weren’t any descriptions about the halls in this temple. Most of the temples were occupied either with Buddhist statues or some other related article. Which brings me to the subject of this post.

Alongside one of the halls of the Jile Temple were rows upon rows of massive cabbages. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious use for them here. I also didn’t notice any plantation which these could have come from. The temple didn’t seem to have a vegetarian restaurant either. So what could this be? I thought that it could be a harvest that was just laid here in preparation from transport but I didn’t know where it came from. It could be an offering to the temple as well. But bringing a truckload of cabbages seem to be quite bizarre. I left the temple still wondering what it all meant.
