I had to go to the middle of nowhere somewhere in Haerbin to get to the Siberian Tiger Park. They say it is one of the most popular attractions of Haerbin. This kind of reminds me of the panda reserve I went to in Chengdu, of course, Siberian tigers are nowhere as cute but they are fare more magnificent. The Siberian Tiger Park houses one of the largest homes for the critically endangered Siberian Tiger. There are less than a thousand of them left in the wild and the park is doing its best to breed them and hopefully be able to reintroduce them into the wild. It is a tough order but it needs to be done.

Strangely enough the ticket booth wasn’t at the visitor center it was at another structure across the street. I went back to the visitor center where there were several groups waiting for their turn to view the tigers. Visitors will be loaded into buses and they will travel inside the reserve to observe the tigers. I was travelling by myself and I had to join in with others. One thing I find amusing is that whenever the Chinese find out you are travelling alone, they tend to talk to you more as if comforting you or give you special treatment, like a better spot on the bus. I managed to land a spot beside the window hopefully I would have good luck taking photos of the Siberian Tigers.
