After all the halls we were visiting at the Lingyin Temple, we were only too glad get out of there. Sure it was historical, but you get temple fatique very fast. Even more so for my friend who prefers shopping rather than this type of thing. The Lingyin Temple is just part of a larger park called the Lingyin-Feilai Feng Scenic Area. Basically, the entire area was fenced off and they install a ticket booth outside for visitors to see. The scenic area covers a large area including mountains and rivers.

One thing I like about visiting China is that it was easy to access these types of places even though you are in the city. It is usually just a short bus ride away from nature. Sure there will always be the occasional news about a polluted river but at least the ones I have visited seem to be quite well protected. Much of the Lingyin-Feilai Feng Scenic Area follows a small river, and this makes for a very nice stroll. Most of the people are probably at the Lingyin Temple so it is less crowded.
