Dong Le Xuan Temple 东了轩

It is not hard to forget that Mount Tai is the most sacred mountain in all of Taoism. The mountain is dotted with numerous temples and people from all over the country come here to complete their pilgrimage. A lot of people bring their own incense sticks from the city to the top of the mountain. There are some stores selling these stuff but they are naturally a lot more expensive since everything has to be carried up from below. One of the first temples I stumbled into is the Dong Le Xuan Temple 东了轩.

The Dong Le Xuan Temple is a Taoist Temple and it seemed to be exteremely popular with the people here. There were a lot of people milling about, most of them paying their respects at the temple. The temple has an offering area where you can put your incense sticks and candles. I also found it a bit strange to see a large fire being maintained behind it. It seemed a bit dangerous since most people will be passing by it. The temple is also not very far either, I wonder if there is any danger of fire here. The offering area is cloaked with a layer of metal locks put in their by young couples. This is not the first time I’ve seen this but I always amuses me to see this.
