I didn’t know much about the Dai Temple until I started researching for my China trip. Even so, I didn’t really pay much attention to it, but little did I know that I would be spending the rest of the afternoon here. Apparently it is a very significant temple. It was built during the Qin 秦 dynasty. That is more than two thousand years ago! Succeeding dynasties then enhanced the temple. One may wonder why this temple was in continuous years even after the dynasties collapsed. This because the temple is dedicated to the god of the nearby sacred mountain Mount Tai.

The Dai Temple is also unique because of the fact that this temple has the features of an imperial palace. There are only a few of them in China and I have suprisingly visited them in this trip. As expected of a temple/palace, the place is huge, of course not as huge as the Forbidden Palace. It is hard to believe that this place is that old. I guess it is because it is so important, that it was in continuous use, as a result it has been well maintained.
