Hiking Through Jungle Trail 9A

I decided to continue the hike from Robinson’s Falls to Jungle Trail 9A, I was already there I might as well make it through all the way. You need to turn left and ignore the metal gate just past Robinson’s Falls to continue on. The original trail was deemed too steep and slippery. Since I was hiking alone, I think it would be better if I walked the safer path.

It is a Long Way Down

It is a Long Way Down

Had I known just how “safe” the safer trail was, I won’t even dare to imagine how bad the rest of Jungle Trail 9 was. The stone path from the start of the trail is long gone and has been replaced by a worn out path which is now overgrowth with thick vegetation. I can’t imagine how this trail became the most popular trail since there is hardly any trace of human presence here. Actually there is, a small tube carrying water from the falls to the next town is the only sign human were ever here. The trail is badly maintained but it is still visible, forunately for me.

The trail for the most part is just going through really thick jungle. Sometimes I would have to scramble over or under some fallen tree. I thought to myself that this is not really very safe. Especially I have to climb over a fallen tree trunk. A misstep would send me to the ravine below. Since very few people seem to came by here, I won’t be a good ending for anyone falling way down. So when hiking on this trail, please make sure that you do not carry too much stuff. Take small measured steps especially in the riskier areas. Let someone know that you will be hiking this trail and let them know what time you leave and intend to come back.
