Roti Prata for Breakfast

Tanah Rata is basically an Indian town so it is little surprise to know that there are a lot of Indian restaurants here. A lot of my friends don’t fancy Indian food probably because it is a bit too “foreign” to them but I actually like it. One popular Indian breakfast is something called Roti Prata, which is basically fried dough. Although it isn’t just taking the dough and frying it.

The dough it is kneaded and stretched until it is paper thin. At this point the cook will drop a few eggs here and repeat the process. The mixture is then stretched, folded, stretched and folded several times before being fried. The result is a crispy pancake type of dough. It is best eaten with curry and of course, with your hands. There are difference variations here, the difference in what they put in the dough before it is fried. I ordered my with egg and onion. There are more exotic once with cheese or chocolate even, take your pick.
