Junk at Hong Kong

I finally escaped all the trouble in Manila and started to treat myself to a vacation. I didn’t really have any real plans in mind, in fact I didn’t even plan on visiting any major tourist spots. Those ones I have visited countless number of times. This was just for relaxing and unwinding. Although relaxing and unwinding might seem strange words to use in a very energetic city like Hong Kong, but I guess from where I came from this would be more relaxing and less stressful.

My friend has work that day and I was left all to myself. I was fortunate that the weather is still quite cool but not cold enough to warrant cold weather clothes. After all, I only brought a pair of shorts and a couple of shirts. I started off my exploration of Hong Kong at the Tsim Sha Tsui Area. I always loved looking at the iconic cityscape of Hong Kong, and this is best viewed from the Tsim Sha Tsui side of Victoria Harbour. I was admiring the view when I realized that there was junk which parked right alongside the promenade area.

After coming here numerous times, this was my first time to see that junk. I’ve always wanted to take a photo of it but alas it was already leaving. I would learn the name of the junk is the Aqualuna. It is a tourist boat with a restaurant and it can take you for 45 minute ride along the harbor. Although the thought of riding a junk was enticing, I’m sure it would be much, much pricier than just taking the Star Ferry which I love very much. I would later see the junk several more times in the succeeding days until I decided it was no longer the novelty I thought it was.
