Entering the Liberty Bell Center

I was disappointed not to be able to go inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site listed Independence Hall. Apparently, there are only a limited number of free tickets to be given away each day. It was past noon and they had already given all the tickets away. I could only take photos from the outside. With the Independence Hall already out of the picture, I thought to visit another important artifact here in the area. As suggested by the staff at the Independence Visitor Center, I decided to look at the Liberty Bell. It won’t take a genius to figure out how to get in to see the Liberty Bell. There is a long queue outside a sheltered structure which lets people visit and see the Liberty Bell in relative comfort.

The queue outside the Liberty Bell Center is probably just as long as the number of people inside it. At least this queue moves fast enough. I didn’t have anyone with me so I had to stay in line all the time. The afternoon sun wasn’t making it any easier. Only after reaching the covered area that there was something to read. Visitors will be snaking through a small exhibit hall before presumably seeing the bell itself. There was even a part which is has a small excavation which shows the foundations of the structure which used to stand there. I think it is a nice way to pass the time before finally reaching the bell.
