The Basilica of Saint Procopius in Třebíč is part of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. It is actually part of the listing “Jewish Quarter and St Procopius’ Basilica in Třebíč”. Apparently, there was a significant Jewish population here back then and most probably now, still here in Třebíč. The significance of this place is that Christian and Jews were living in harmony in this town for years and these structures are examples of that harmonious relationship. There is a Jewish quarter here in Třebíč but we would be heading to the Jewish Cemetery first.

From the basilica, it was actually quite a bit of a walk to the cemetery. We left the car back in the our accommodation and we were walking all the way. No one was complaining but even I was having a little difficulty walking up to the cemetery because it was somewhere on a hill. This was just past a residential area of the Jewish quarter and I could tell that we have arrived because there was a star of David at the entrance of the cemetery. I’m not sure what is there to see here in the cemetery but might as well look.
