As expected, we quickly ran out of things to see in the tiny village of Holašovice This is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its importance as a great example of a central European village. Most of the historical structures were around the village green. There was one single farmhouse which was open and we were able to go in an have a peek inside. We thought we were done here in the village green and though to go somewhere else since it was still early. We found out that there was another field not too far from the village green and it seems like there were some structures there.

The field was large but it was still small enough for visitors to go around in. There was another family there also having a walk around the field. What grabbed my attention was the presence of wooden statues which were on display on a mild elevation. There were statues of characters which might be more familiar as Marvel characters these days but these are Norse gods. These are statues of Thor, Odin and Freya. They also double as seats so visitors can sit on them and have photos taken with them. I thought this was a strange sight to see here. I don’t think this place has any connection to Scandinavia for it to have a this kind of feature. It was almost tacky, but perhaps it was meant to keep little kid entertained. After all, a farmhouse can’t be that interesting to a small child.
