When we were visiting the Český Krumlov Castle, I just happened to see another spot in the distance which looks like it can overlook the medieval town of Český Krumlov. Even thought it wasn’t that far, we still took the car and brought it as close as possible to the spot. However, the rest of the way was a dirty and sometimes muddy path, which meant that we can’t drive all the way. I set out on foot while my friends stayed in the car. It wasn’t a long walk up the hill but it was rather steep and, at times, slippery. Since it was just a dirt trail, there weren’t any steps and I would just have to make sure I make it all the way to the top in one piece.

At the very top is a small church. The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows and Holy Crosses sits on top of this hill which overlooks the town of Český Krumlov. The church was built in 1710. The design of the church is rather unique because it has the main chapel in the center and it is surrounded by some structure. The only way I can describe it is it is like a cloisters you see in other churches except this cloister surrounds the church. So there is actually an opening in the center where the church is. I actually didn’t get to see any of the inside of the church since it wasn’t open. There were people here as well but I suspect that they were also here for the view, just like I was.
