View from Český Krumlov Castle
View from Český Krumlov Castle

I was very pleased that we found the viewpoint where visitors can overlook the old town of Český Krumlov. There is a bridge which crosses a gap in the walls of the old town. Visitors can go up to the bridge and take photos there even after the castle entrance is closed. Visitors will still be free to come here and admire the view. It is not very often that you have a high enough vantage point in an old town. You know that people also love this place because there would definitely be people here to get their social media photos.

There are parapets along both sides of the bridge. Naturally, this is to keep people from falling all the way down. However, it is also low enough that visitors are able to climb up the wall and pose for photos. I am not sure I would want to risk something like that just to be able to show it on my profile but I would have to admit that there aren’t a lot of shots which would beat that photo. The wall is wide enough to sit on but it still bothers me to see people climb up and do it. Hopefully, no one has turned into an example of what not to do here, despite all the signs discouraging the behavior.
