I arrived at my last stop for this trip in the city of Milan. Milano Centrale would usually be the first stop of visitors coming in by train and what a train station it is. The train station’s design takes inspiration from the rich ancient Roman history and puts that in a railway station, except that this is far bigger. The station is very spacious and bright with a lot of natural light coming in. There are also a lot of shops inside the station for passengers who are waiting for their ride. I still have to go sightseeing but I want to have a look at the train station from the outside.

I have heard about how dodgy Italian train stations could be, so I was a little wary of acting all touristy outside the train station. I have witnessed these in Rome and I worry that it was the same in Milan. I got paranoid to the point that I would refuse help from a seemingly helpful stranger (who turned out to be actual station staff). Either way, it no harm in being too cautious. The outside of the train station is just as how I pictured it from just looking at the inside. It is almost like an ancient Roman monument except that this one is much larger. I’m not an architectural student, so I don’t really know what you call this type of structure but it certainly takes its ancient Roman heritage very seriously.
