I took an early morning train out of Verona to my last stop – Milan. I will be flying out of Italy this evening but I think there is still a bit of time for me to have a look around this city. The train too a little more than an hour to get to Milan. Along the way, the train passed by the famous Lake Garda, which I sitll haven’t been to. I think I need to schedule a visit sometime. For now, it is Milan for me. I have never been here before so I look forward to what I can see here. Naturally, my first look at Milan would be the train station – Milano Centrale.

As I expected, the train station is massive since this is a major destination and hub for trains when going to Italy. I have been to different European train stations and some of them can be destinations on to themselves. Milano Centrale is one of these types of train stations. What is impressive for Milano Centrale is that they take the classic Roman architecture and used it when designing the train station. It is almost like walking around an ancient Roman train station. However, there are multiple electronic displays that will remind you that you are already in the 21st century. It almost feels like a giant triumphal arch. Of all the train stations that I have visited, I think this is one of the most impressive ones that I have seen.
