I know that Verona is a major tourist destination and true enough, there are a lot of people visiting the city even in the winter. I was outside taking photos of the city when the sun goes down and it is noticeable how less busy it is. The lights are on the many historic buildings and city is just beautiful. I ended up back at the Piazza delle Erbe which is the old city center and as expected, the buildings at the square were also lit up. There is even a large Christmas tree near the Palazzo Maffei.

As you might expect from a city center, there were a lot of people at the square. There is still that open market at the square but it is a shame that it wasn’t a full blown Christmas market. There were stalls which sell snacks but nothing like the ones I have seen elsewhere in Europe. It wasn’t that important to me since I know I will be having a proper dinner after this. I haven’t had lunch today so I will be making up for it. It wasn’t quite dinner time yet, so I think I would head back to the hotel for now.
