Sunset at Verona from Castel San Pietro
Sunset at Verona from Castel San Pietro

It was late afternoon, and, like a lot of visitors here in Verona, I made my way to Castel San Pietro where people can have a slightly elevated view of the old city of Verona and the River Adige. Verona is flat enough that just a small hill would be enough to give people a view of the area. What is more, the viewing deck where people would end up in, would be directly across where the sun would set, giving visitors a prime spot for photographs. I wasn’t alone waiting for the sun to go down and it seems that a lot of people know about this place. I was a little worried that there might not be people up on the hill and it might be a little sketchy if I make my way up, but there are no such worries here.

I was very lucky that the skies were very clear and I would easily see the sun’s disc as it makes it way down the horizon. There isn’t much to see here apart from the sun since the sun would essentially overwhelm any dark areas in the photo. I would have to wait some more time after the sun goes down before I can start taking night shots. I was just hanging around at my spot since I thought it was a great spot. There are other spots in the viewing area though, so nothing to worry about.
