From the outside, I can tell that the Scaligers Tombs is a small place. I took a quick run through the tombs on display here and quickly made my way out. There is a door to the next door church from the tombs, but there was a service ongoing at the time and I couldn’t go in. I thought that I might as well keep moving. I then found myself walking along the shores of the River Adige. The city of Verona was established on the shores of this river. The river is rather large at this point having made its way from the Alps and eventually making its way to the Adriatic Sea somewhere near Venice.

At this point, I thought that I had visited all the spots I wanted in Verona. I know there is much more to see given the history of this city however, I remembered that I still needed to check into the hotel and I thought that since I have been walking the whole day, I should head back to check in and take a break. From that short walk along the river, I knew where I would be going after a get my rest. There is a hill across the river and I think it would be a great place to have a look at the city of Verona at night.
