Long time readers of this blog would know that I am not much of an art critic. I would end up visiting famous museums in the world only to make sure that I see the most famous pieces of art in the museum and then leave. I know some museums can be extremely large that you would probably take almost a whole day to see everything. Those, however, are on the extreme end and I don’t get to visit those places that often. The Palazzo Maffei’s museum is on the small side as far a Italian museums are concerned.

Since I started visiting these Italian cities on my way to Milan, I would inevitably find myself in one museum or another. I do not dislike them, but sometimes, too much of a good thing would be not good either. My eyes would glaze over seeing one incredible piece of art after the other that they start to blend into one another, unless it is something unique. One of these unique pieces is the La Nuvola or the Cloud by Leandro Erlich. This is a set of glass panels with an image of a cloud painted on each of the surfaces, when all of them are viewed together, it produces a very convincing three dimensional image of a cloud. Yes, it is art that is not “old” but it is something interesting, at least for me.
