The Piazza delle Erbe or Market Square in the Verona appears to be the busiest place in the city. There is a very lively open market here where locals and even tourists have shop around for stuff. I was having mixed feelings on the presence of the market here in this square since it makes is hard to appreciate the historical buildings around it. I would need to walk further back to see the buildings since I would be right next to market stall if that wasn’t the case. The Palazzo della Ragione, the old courthouse is probalby the most prominent building here in the square but there are others like the Palazzo Maffei.

The Palazzo Maffei is an old palace on the western end of the piazza. What is probably most prominent about it is its baroque design. The palazzo has been here since the sixteenth century and it still stands here in the present day, just like a lot of the heritage structures here in Verona. The palace now serves as a museum. I was only going with the flow and I thought that I would want to have a look at the museum here in Palazzo Maffei. Knowing that I’m not a massive museum fan, I think this would be a quick visit.
