I found myself back at the Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza after a whole day of visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. I was surprised to know how many sites there were actually here and how spread out they could be. Some buildings designed by Andrea Palladio might have been bunched together near the old town square but there were others which were a little further away. Even the Palladian villas were basically out of reach for me since they were outside the city of Vicenza itself. I only managed to visit the Villa la Rotonda just outside the city only to find out that it was closed for renovation.

The sun had gone down here and it was already night time. Since it was still early evening in the winter, I still have some places I can go to. However, I was stopped in my tracks when I came upon the Piazza dei Signori where I started my visit in the first place. The Palladian buildings areound the square had a light show projected on them. I don’t know if this is a nightly thing or it is just because it was Christmas, but I like what they did here. In the day time, one can appreciate the heritage sites, at night one can appreciate the light show projected on the heritage sites. It is pretty cool since it also has music accompanying the show. What is more, this is all free and anyone can go visit the square and watch the show.
