It was already dark by the time I was done visit the Palladian sites in the city of Vicenza. I was only glad that not all of them were open or I would not have enough time to see all of them. A lot of the smaller sites can only be seen from the outside which is perfect for me. I would take my photos and move on to the next spot. I would like to see that I have seen most of the sites so I thought that it was time to relax. I ended up going to the main square of the old town Piazza dei Signori, I figured that this would be a great place to start looking for a place to have dinner. I wasn’t in a hurry yet since it was actually still a little early even if it was already dark.

I was surprised to see that there was a light show going on at the piazza. The were projectors installed at various spots in the piazza and they turn on at night to project images on the heritage structures, in particular the Basilica Palladiana which is the centerpiece of the piazza. I know that I don’t particularly like this being done on heritage sites, since I would prefer that proper lighting just be done on it. But I thought that the show was very tastefully done. It had a feeling of being artsy which probably goes with the general feeling of Vicenza and Italy as a whole. It was like they can make the simplest things feel fancy.
