Lasagna at the Gran Caffe in Vicenza
Lasagna at the Gran Caffe in Vicenza

I think I visited most of the places that I wanted to visit in the Vicenza city center. There are still a few remaining spots which relate to Andrea Palladio, but I think I would like to take a break for a while before continuing. There is still a bit of time and I can afford to relax a bit since I started earlier in the morning. Actually it was time for lunch and I thought to have a very quick lunch before resuming.

I didn’t really want to walk around the city to look for a place for lunch and I ended up walking along the main street where the hotel was. I saw this charming little coffee shop called Gran Caffe which serves some light meals which is perfect for what I was looking for. More amusingly, they had a sign which says they don’t have spaghetti. I wasn’t planning get any spaghetti this trip, but I got something related – lasagna. I has been a while since I last had lasagna and the one they had was good. It was very hectic place since there were a lot of customers. Most of the people were there to have coffee and probably a sandwich. I seemed to be the only one who wanted an actually meal. I guess that is how it works here. The coffee shop was small and cozy but very lively. No wonder a lot of people come here to get their coffee.
